This distinctive glaze is a little uncommon; we have named it the ‘heart beat’ lava glaze, as it is similar to the heartbeat glaze found on some Carsten’s pottery. It’s by Ilka Edel, which is a company that was originally founded in 1892 by Jacob Leopold Knodgen in Ransbach-Baumbach.
It has the form number 1035-30 on the bottom and it a beautiful calm grey, which would fit perfectly in any modern home with a small bunch of colourful flowers splitting out over the top of this wonderful shape.
