Who’s Behind Maker & Muse?

Hi, I’m Sharon and I’m the face behind Maker and Muse. We started life as Swag and Tales back in 2018, which I ran between a full time corporate job in Marketing. Redundancy, due to Covid, in May 2020, was a blessing in disguise. It meant I could focus more on my passion for interior design, restoration and upholstery.

Having trained in upholstery and fabric design for the last few years, I took the decision in June 2020 to relaunch Swag and Tales under a new name – Maker and Muse. I expanded our services from selling just decorative antiques and vintage to focusing more on bespoke statement seating, including antique, vintage and a new line of limited edition contemporary seating and footstools.

I restore and upholster everything you see for sale in our seating range using a mixture of traditional and modern techniques. I also make lampshades, scatter cushions using both vintage and new fabric and of course we still have our fabulous range of decorative antiques and vintage pieces.

Our ethos is to give antiques and vintage pieces a new lease of life, whilst helping you create your own unique home interior.
