Nice looking and sturdy pair of table-top West German vases (485-26) that were manufactured around 1965 by Scheurich Keramik.
These are handled versions of their famous “Amsterdam” relif motif vase, so called because of it was designed to reflect the national flower of Amsterdam – the Tulip. Others know it as the “onion” design; whichever you prefer, this design quickly became a mid-century classic with its modernist simplicity.
This example comes in striking blue outer glaze and dark brown interior.
